The Accuplacer placement exam is used only in extenuating circumstances when a student does not have access to a high school transcript and/or SAT/ACT scores to determine course placement (this usually applies to home-schooled students or students who graduated from high school some time ago). Documentation of previously earned college-level credits will also assist with math and/or English course placement.
